OUGD101 - Alphabet Soup Illustrator

OUGD101 Alphabet Soup Illustrator Evaluation

Previous to these introductory sessions I had used Illustrator a lot, so I was reasonably competent with all areas of the programme, if I hadn’t have been I probably would have struggled re creating a vector version of what was a very detailed letterform that I needed to work with. After a good few hours of the Bezier tool I had a vectored letterform that looked relatively similar to the earlier produced photo manipulation to communicate deconstruct. I also created textures for the necessary parts using monoprint textures and subtracting them from shape. Because of the technicality of my letterform it was quite a challenge to work with, and because of the amount of vector points within it Illustrator often ran very slow. So despite the frustration I produced the twenty-six variations required, some are more visually effective than others.
