attended a really inspiration talk today, so thought the notes I took were worth typing up (as I can never read my own handwriting)...

graphic design will never rise above its contetn.
content + form = communication
'be interested not interesting'
no such thing as a bad brief, just a bad response
the solution is always there
solve the right problem in the brief
'ideas are like whores' if one isn't good enough, move onto the next one
*ORIGINALITY* *RELEVANCE* *EXECUTION*
*MEDIA* *SUITABILITY* *CONTENT*
don't repeat yourself - love OR ♥ not love
if you use your style, you probably haven't solved the problem
OBSERVE / QUESTION / RECORD / ACT
don't become a professional - you are not repairing a broken pipe
so man ways to fix a design problem
trust your doubts, go with it
BE HONEST
don't talk about your design, let your design do the talking
clients don't care about point size, leading and rationales
don't be an ELITIST
Einstein is a genius - no graphic design will be

be scared you won't get a job
when visiting companies/placements take finished work AND in progress work

*good design is invisible let the content do the talking*

...swearing is just being fucking passionate
